Having an aquarium inside the house is quite a delight especially for those people who love looking at the fishes just doing what they do when they are in water. However, some people are not contented with the small ones and instead buy something that might be more than just a regular aquarium.

A 75 gallon aquarium is one of the biggest furniture inside the house. That being said, there are also big things that one should know first before going for the gold and purchasing one at a nearby pet store. Here are some reminders.

One might find keeping a 75 gallon aquarium much easier by basing the temperature from having an aquarium that is 25 or 50 gallons less. People who have acquired a smaller aquarium before are in for an advantage. This process work because the aquarium caretakers are capable of keeping the temperature just right with ease, since they will not be able to do it manually in such a large tank. Moreover, doing this process will help one to protect the organisms that live in it, including the fishes themselves.

Having a bigger aquarium will mean that the number of fishes dwelling in it will be bigger, too. Of course, this decision relies on the customers, but they will surely not order an enormous tank for only a couple of fishes. However, their sizes might not be the same, especially when they grow up. Consumers should always keep in mind that for every gallon of water put in the aquarium, they can only keep the fishes as long as one inch or lower. This is very essential since the sizes of these fishes will dictate how much the water and the environment in the tank will be capable of supporting the fishes’ lives.

Keeping the aquarium clean is the key thing to help the fishes live a healthy life, but removing everything entirely does not work. Some of the bacteria that grow in the aquarium might be essential in giving these fishes the nutrients and vitamins that they need. Some are even capable of keeping the water pure and safe for the fishes to live in.  A technique in keeping these good bacteria inside is by cleaning the filter from the aquarium itself and not taking it outside of the water and cleaning it manually with brush and other cleaning stuff.

Lastly, the caretakers of the aquarium should not overfeed the fishes inside it. This is very important especially for a person that owns a 75 gallon aquarium, since there is a lot of space. Enough and not overflowing food should be given, since more food would mean more waste to excrete.

Of course, keeping up with the enormous aquarium and with the fishes and other aquatic animals inside is not and will never be an easy task. Perseverance and dedication are the key things here, since inactions will not only lead to the loss of fishes, but also to the loss of lives as well.
